Source and Calculation

Shapefiles of terrestrial species’ extent of occurrence are sourced from the IUCN Red ListBirdLife International, and the Global Assessment of Reptile Distributions Initiative and are used to create country lists of terrestrial species. Global Red List assessments are sourced from the IUCN Red List. A minimum score is given to a country that has 50% or more of its species assessed as declining.
