Nearly a quarter of Earth’s mammal species are on the edge of extinction!

Ranging from tiny bats to enormous whales, mammals hold vital roles in nature. They maintain the equilibrium of natural systems as apex and meso-predators. The number and safety of mammals vary significantly around the world, facing multiple dangers like habitat loss, climate change, pollution, and illegal or over hunting.

Understanding the distribution and conservation status of mammals in different regions is crucial for devising effective strategies to preserve their populations and the ecological services they provide, which are vital for the planet’s biodiversity and human well-being.
