Mom was working for 25 years in the Israeli Society for the Protection of Nature. So you can saw I want a nature boy. My dream was to be a nature photographer, but it didn’t work.

I went to study computers and became an entrepreneur. Luckily, after several successful endeavors, I could come back “home” and do what I love – be obsessed with nature and animals. However, these animals need out protection now more than ever.

The largest eastern African country, one of the poorest countries in the world, is one of the richest in wildlife thanks to long-term planning.

Three climates zones: tropics on the eastern Indian Ocean shore, the mostly arid highlands, and the mountains. Two rainy seasons are the end of October to the beginning of December (although there is slight shifting due to climate change causing drought) and April to the end of May.

Most travelers do the “Northern circuit,” containing the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, and Arusha.

What animals will you see? It’s up to what mother nature will send your way. However, in some of the most interesting animals we’ve seen, it was a matter of being alert! If we’d blink at the wrong moment, we would miss a Leopard one meter from our Jeep. So, always look in your surroundings and look up for something moving in the bushes!

מעברים בטוחים לחיות בר

אובדן שטחי מחייה בעקבות פיתוח אנושי ותשתיות פגע אנושות באוכלוסיית בעלי החיים בעשרות השנים האחרונות.

הקיטוע בין שטחי המחייה הנותרים יוצר אוכלוסיות מבודדות, פגיעות ולא בריאות מבחינה גנטית.

ריבוי הכבישים גורם לדריסת חיות בר.

ארגון מעברים בטוחים לחיות בר, שהוקם על ידי מאיה סיגל ודניאל ברעם, שם לו למטרה לקדם את המודעות ואת ביצוע פעולות הגנה לחיות הבר בסביבה עירונית שפולשת לעוד ועוד שטחי טבע ושטחים פתוחים.

כיום יש 5 מעברים עיליים שנבנו במיוחד עבור בעלי חיים: כביש 67 (70 לשעבר) באזור שפיה, כביש 6 אזור נחל דליה רמת מנשה, כביש 85 מערבית לצומת עמיעד, כביש 1 ליד שורש, כביש 38 ליד מסילת ציון.

כמו כן נבנה מעבר תחתי בכביש 90 ליד שמורת החולה עין תאו.

בתכנון עוד רבים, ותפקידנו כאזרחים איכפתיים הוא להיות הקול של בעלי החיים ולדחוף את מקבלי ההחלטות להקצרת עוד משאבים לנושא.
