Crocodiles’ world records list
There are lots of different types of crocodiles in the world, and they come in all shapes and sizes! Some are huge, like the saltwater crocodile Lolong, who was over 7 m (23 ft) long and weighed over 900 kg (2,000 pounds)! That’s like having a dinosaur as a pet!
Crocodiles have really good ears and eyes, too, so they can see and hear things we can’t. And did you know that mommy crocodiles are really caring? They carry their babies in their mouths or on their backs to keep them safe from danger.
They are also known for their incredible swimming abilities. They can hold their breath for up to an hour underwater and swim at speeds of up to 33 km/h (20 mph). On land, they are surprisingly fast runners and can even climb trees! They have unique features that make them incredible hunters. Their hearing is so sensitive that they can pick up low-frequency sounds inaudible to humans. They also have excellent night vision and can see well in the dark.
