Population

Fur is painted gray or black with white patches behind the eyes and usually a cream-colored belly. This species has a long prehensile tail that generally displays a distinctive white tip with over 25% of its length. The back feet are syndactyly which helps them to climb. Their molar teeth have sharp and pointed cusps.

This species can be found on the east coast of Australia, Tasmania, and part of southwestern Australia. It generally thrives in temperate and tropical environments and is relatively rare in dry environments. They are severely declining because they are greatly affected by deforestation in Australia.
