A very rare type of monkey that lives only on Cat Ba Island in Vietnam. This animal is also known as the golden-headed langur because of its striking golden-yellow fur on its head and shoulders. The rest of its body is covered in dark, almost black fur, which makes the bright color on its head stand out even more. Cat Ba langurs have long tails that help them balance as they move around the steep limestone cliffs where they live.

One of the most special things about the Cat Ba langur is that it’s one of the world’s most endangered primates. It’s believed that there are fewer than 60 of them left in the wild, which makes it a very important species for conservation efforts. The main reason their numbers have gotten so low is due to hunting and habitat loss. In the past, people hunted them for traditional medicine, and as the island has become more developed, the forests where they live have been cut down.

These langurs are folivores, which means they only eat plants. They spend a lot of their time high in the trees, where they can find leaves, fruit, and flowers to eat. What’s interesting is that their stomachs are specially adapted to help them digest tough leaves, which most animals would find hard to eat. They are known to sit quietly in trees, resting and eating, which makes them seem calm and peaceful.
